Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Megah (SKTM) is an urban primary school located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor serving a diverse ethnic population of a thousand seven to twelve-year-old children. 1 November 1989 saw the completion of Sekolah Rendah Taman Megah on a piece of 2-acre land.
The first schooling session began on 4 December 1989 under the leadership of Mr Yeoh Boon Keat. He was assisted by a Senior Assistant and 12 teachers. Equipped with 8 classes, the pupil enrolment was 217. Mr Chuah Yew Peng took over from 1997 – May 2001. On 27 May 2001, the helm was handed over to Madam Khoo Swee Poh. SKTM now boasts 26 classes, 57 staff and a thousand pupils.
This school is well-known for its academic as well as co-academic achievement. We were awarded the Cluster School status in April 2011, having English and Robotics as our niche areas. We were also given the New Deal Award (Tawaran Baru Guru Besar).
There are 2 International Teacher-Pupil Exchange Programmes with Langwarrin Primary School, Melbourne, Australia & Sekolah Dasar Negeri 3, Pangkalpinang, Indonesia. These programmes last a duration of 3 weeks where exchange students live with carefully selected host families. The aim of these programmes is to increase the participants’ understanding and tolerance of other cultures, as well as improving their language skills and broadening their educational and social horizons.English and Robotics as our niche areas. We were also given the New Deal Award (Tawaran Baru Guru Besar).
Our students also participate in the ICAS (International Competitions & Assessments for schools) conducted by the University of New South Wales & Masmo (Malaysia ASEAN Schools Maths Olympiad) with many of them excelling in both exams.
